CalcEngine All Calculators

About CalcEngine

Built by engineers, for engineers.

What is CalcEngine?

CalcEngine is a free collection of browser-based calculators for software engineers, backend developers, and system architects. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — no account, no server round-trips, no tracking.

The goal is simple: give developers instant, accurate answers to the day-to-day questions that come up when designing systems — API rate limits, token costs, payload sizes, cache hit rates, and more.

Who built it?

CalcEngine is designed and maintained by Vik Thomas, a software engineer and web developer with experience across backend systems, APIs, and developer tooling.

Vik runs Lamill Web Systems — a small, independent web studio that builds fast, focused tools for developers and technical audiences. CalcEngine is one of several projects under that umbrella.

Why CalcEngine?

The existing options were either buried inside expensive SaaS dashboards or required copy-pasting values into a spreadsheet. CalcEngine exists because these calculations should be a URL away — shareable, fast, and free.

Every calculator on the site is written from scratch with real engineering context in mind: correct formulas, sensible defaults, and output that's actually useful in a planning conversation or an architecture review.
